Entertaining on New Year's Eve

by Josh Early Candies

New Year's Eve has generally been viewed as the time to reflect on the events of the year gone by and to make plans for the year ahead. If the idea of ringing in 2014 while standing in the middle of Times Square surrounded by a million people you've never met doesn't sound too appealing, then try a celebration at home with family and friends.

When it comes to entertaining, no matter how fancy the affair, it's important to take the time to focus on the details. The smallest touches will make your guests feel that much more special. Here are a few innovative ways to have Josh Early Candies enhance your evening at home with those who mean the most.

Set out some noisemakers for your guests to use at midnight and put a bowl of our Assorted Solid Buttons ($3.45) nearby. See how the foil-wrapped candies complement the bright colors of the noisemakers?

A plate of our Peanut Butter Straws ($5.75) is sure to add a bit of richness to your treat table. Your guests will undoubtedly be lured in by their golden sheen, and we're willing to bet that the plate will be empty by the time the clock strikes midnight.

If you want to go one step further, then you can add in a handful or two of our Milk Peanut Butter Straws or our Dark Peanut Butter Straws for a visual contrast. Remember… it's all about the little details!

To balance out the sweets, set out a bowl of our Assorted Salted Nuts ($12.50). Each 13-ounce container features lightly salted California almonds, jumbo cashews, macadamia nuts, filberts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, and pecans that have all been roasted fresh in our kitchen. With that much variety, you're guaranteed to have something that will appeal to each and every one of your guests.

In anticipation of the kissing that traditionally occurs at midnight, put out a plate of our Mint Patties ($6.30).

Of course, you'll want to have something sparkling chilled and ready to pour into your champagne flutes so you'll be set to toast the New Year as the ball drops in Times Square.

For an elegant but simple way to set up your beverage station, place your glasses on a silver tray scattered with Assorted Solid Buttons wrapped in silver and gold foil. Pair your champagne or Prosecco with squares of our Figero Fudge ($10.60) presented in mini gold baking cups to keep with the metallic theme. After all, nothing goes better with bubbly than a bite of something rich and chocolaty.

These entertaining tips are sure to make your New Year's Eve party a stylish affair. And these special touches will ensure that your celebration will be a memorable one. 2014 has been an incredible year for all of us at Josh Early Candies, and we're looking forward to seeing what 2015 has in store.

Have a safe and happy New Year, everyone!
