Josh Early Candies Partners with Autism Speaks for Fifth Year

by Josh Early Candies

On Saturday, April 20, the Lehigh Valley will host the 2013 Walk Now for Autism Speaks at Dorney Park in Allentown.  We at Josh Early Candies are honored to partner with Autism Speaks as a Gold Sponsor for the fifth consecutive year.

Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disorder in the United States. Every 11 minutes, another child learns that he or she has autism.  Motivated by the needs of their grandchild, Bob and Suzanne Wright founded Autism Speaks in February 2005 so that they might increase awareness of autism spectrum disorders, generate funds for autism research, and advocate the needs of individuals with autism.

To further support the cause, we put blue lights in our windows on April 2 (World Autism Awareness Day) in response of Light It Up Blue, a global initiative designed to kick off Autism Awareness Month and to help cultivate a deeper understanding of these disorders. The more we can do to raise awareness of autism, the better.

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, please consider joining the 2013 Walk Now for Autism Speaks at Dorney Park and lend your support to the goals of this vitally important event.

Registration and Activities begin at 8:30am, while the Walk itself begins at 10am. See the event website for more details.
